The Spark Delta programme maps out the supply and demand for affordable and sustainable electricity, addresses bottlenecks and opportunities, and provides the connecting infrastructure in the system. After all, in order to implement the sustainability plans, it is crucial to have a suitable infrastructure for all commodities (water, CO2, hydrogen, electricity, etc.) with cross-border connections.

 

Activities

The Spark Delta programme includes the following activities:

  • Ongoing study into the increase in supply and demand for electricity (System Integration Study and Cluster Energy Strategy)
  • Facilitating and contributing to the further development of the 380 kV grid in the region, particularly in Vlissingen-Oost and Zeeuws-Vlaanderen
  • Contributing to Multi-Utilities Crossing Westerschelde
  • Facilitating and contributing to additional onshore connection of offshore wind (VAWOZ)
